Memphis Riverboats offers day cruises on the Mississippi River on its fleet of nostalgic paddlewheel riverboats. The Island Queen is used for sightseeing cruises, the Memphis Queen II is a historic vessel used primarily for private groups and the classic Victorian riverboat-style Memphis Queen III, hosts dinner cruises in heated or air-conditioned comfort. The company also owns the classic Memphis Showboat, which is available for private in-dock parties and events and offers high-speed rides on the Mississippi for up to six passengers.

Memphis Riverboats' Sightseeing Cruise is a 90-minute journey on the Mississippi River with historical commentary by an on-board 'Riverlorian.' During the cruise, passengers learn about Mark Twain's time as a riverboat captain, and about the maritime disaster of the Sultana. The journey is a 7-to-10-mile round-trip that stays within Memphis, traveling both north and south on the Mississippi River. The ship has a snack bar. The Sightseeing Cruise is available daily from March to October and on weekends in November; no reservations are necessary.

Dinner Cruise

The Evening and Dinner Music Cruise presented by Memphis Riverboats lasts two hours and includes a barbecue buffet dinner served on an enclosed deck. A live band provides musical entertainment to enjoy while dancing or taking in the illuminated Memphis skyline. The buffet features barbecued pork and chicken with baked beans, coleslaw, vegetables and bread, followed by Mississippi mud pie for dessert. The dress code is casual. Evening and Dinner Music Cruises are offered on Thursday to Saturday in summer, and on Saturdays only in the off-season. Memphis Riverboats recommends making reservations at least a week in advance for these cruises.

Special Occasion Cruises

Memphis Riverboats (memphisriverboats.net) offers special cruise excursions for New Year's Eve, the Christmas period and Valentine's Day. The Valentine's Day Dinner and Music Cruise lasts two hours and includes a buffet-style dinner with desert and unlimited tea and coffee. Entertainment is provided by a live band. To make the cruise more special, you can arrange for Valentine's Day balloons, candy and champagne to be included. The Holiday Dinner and Music cruise is also two hours in duration and features a live band. The buffet-style meal has a Christmas theme with turkey, ham, dressing and seasonal side dishes. For New Year's Eve, Memphis Riverboats presents a longer three-hour cruise with an assortment of hors d'ouevres and a champagne toast at midnight. Advance reservations are required for the special occasion cruises.
